Much Ado About Nothing

by William Shakespeare

July 7 - 17

War is over. The victorious Prince of Aragon, Don Pedro, returns from battle to the Italian town of Messina to enjoy the hospitality of the Governor and his family. Celebration and the threat of tragedy follow with a Masquerade ball, a wedding, a vengeful villain, saucy maids, a funeral, a trial, clowns and of course two sets of lovers.

The ‘merry war’ between the two central characters, Beatrice and Benedick, lies at the heart of this play. Publicly they battle it out with acerbic wit and insults, privately they yearn for each other’s affection. But will true love run smooth?

"Everyman has put on a stunning production, which genuinely leaves you with an
ache in your heart"

(Shakespeare Revue King Lear 2009)
